Your Beatitude,

I am writing this letter to you at the present time with regard to our beloved Archbishop Seraphim (Storheim), asking you and the Holy Synod of Bishops to defer any action against him until an appeal has been made to the Court of Appeals in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and if necessary, to the Supreme Court of Canada.

The faithful of the Archdiocese of Canada, myself included, have been in anguish since this most unjust and untrue accusation was brought against our archpastor in 2010.

He has worked tirelessly over the past 25 years to build up the vast Archdiocese of Canada into a flourishing part of The Orthodox Church of America. We mourn the terrible miscarriage of justice which occurred on January 24, 2014, and we deeply miss Archbishop Seraphim’s presence, guidance and leadership among us.

We implore you and the Holy Synod of Bishops to have patience with the Canadian legal process of appeals until it comes to its conclusion before taking any action with regard to Archbishop Seraphim.

Having met Vladyka Seraphim in 1998, I know that he is innocent of this false and malicious accusation. He has great care and concern for all and these accusations are entirely 100% out of character. I thank you for your consideration of my request, and ask for your holy prayers for our Archdiocese.

Yours sincerely in Christ,
P.G., Nova Scotia
